Land O'Lakes Purina Feed 50LB Stocker Grower

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I started my calves on this at 5 weeks they are 10 months and super fat!

Bought this to finish a couple of steers on. Opened up the first bag and just full of mold. Moved over to this from another brand which I had never had an issue with but thought I'd give this a shot. Never again. Going back to the tried and true. Cows wouldn't even touch it which to me is saying something.

I have used this the last two loads I got and had used a 15 % ration before . The 14 % was more economical and does just as good a job. I use it to creep feed the calves on the cows and then use it to wean the calves as they are use to it and wean very easily. Also use it to supplement the cows during the Winter months with hay.

We're new to cattle raising so we asked our neighbor what he feeds his cattle. We went with his recommendation for the first few purchases, but the feed contained molasses as a sweetener and even had the word “Sweet” in the name on the bag. I didn't want to be feeding my young ladies too much sugar so I started reading product information on bags. I found Purina Stocker Grower and was impressed with the amount of protein it contained. My girls are 10 month old beef cattle and I knew the protein would be great to help them grow strong and healthy. I bought a few bags to see how they would like it and they loved it. Now they will try to eat out of the bucket before I can get it into their trough. They are healthy and beautiful, but most of all, I feel good about what I'm feeding them.

I feed this texturized to insure my growing heifers get optimum size when there is no legume in pasture . I start them on stress care and slowly mix in stocker grower. They wean easy and get gentle from handling them. Excellent size and success breeding them as yearlings.
