Learning Resources Botley the Coding Robot Code Games for Boys and Girls, Ages 5+

As a parent, I was eager to try a STEM-based learning toy that didn't require my phone or tablet to make it work. When Botley arrived, our entire family couldn't wait to make him come to life. I put in batteries, and opened the user guide to read how to get started. My kids (1 girl, 2 boys, age 8) immediately had him chatting and roving all over our house! There was a slight learning curve to remember what the buttons mean on the remote, but that was it. I was amazed at how quickly they had Botley maneuvering around cones, following lines, and pushing objects with his arm attachments. The "coding cards" in the kit are a great addition. My kids love the fact that these cards help them recall what they programmed, and they can make adjustments easily to get desired results. On top of it all, Botley has a fun personality! Weeeeee! He keeps us laughing. I would definitely recommend Botley, and hope Learning Resources introduces more accessories for Botley so we can continue fun coding challenges at home.

I am glad i got to try this for free because i doubted this. Easy to use. It is super hilarious when you figure out an easter egg code to get him to talk. My kids are having him "spin in circles while we set up the (obstacles)" as I type. It super educational! Within twenty minutes my daughter had figured out the object detection scenarios that aren't possible and we discussed why those scenarios don't work. We love him!!!

My 7y old daughter absolutely loves Botley. This is a great and fun way for kids to learn the basics of coding and creating loops and more. I think this should be the toy of the year and honestly feel Botley would make the perfect gift for any child.

I had very high expectations for this STEM toy, and to my surprise it met all of them. Directions are easy to read, and it's already assembled. You do need a screw driver and 5 tripple a batteries fyi. Botley has stopped my toddler from asking for my cell phone, he loves electronics I have no guilt with him playing with Botley. He's learning to problem solve and code, great value and even better time I'm having playing together with my son. It keeps his attention for hours, for younger children the line option where Botley automatically follows the black line is perfect. Highly recommended.

My 7 and 9yo kids love Botley. They have enjoyed making the robot move around and my 7yo son quickly discovered the "secrets" to make the robot do fun extra tasks. I can't wait to see what more they do with the robot when they have more time again.
