LitterMaid Mega Deluxe Automatic Litter Box, Bonus Privacy Tent & Waste Receptacles

I got stuck babysitting a cat for a few months. I bought this because I am not a cat person and hated the smell of the litterbox. WOW! What a difference. No dusgusting smell anymore. That alone made it worth it. It is true that one still must enure all is well and the tips from other consumers definetly helped: correct amount of litter, right type of litter, use the pam spray on bottom of pan and on the 'comb' that moves to catch the litter, and to save money on the containers buy using plastic grocery bags to fill the containers and throwing out the waste about every 4 days. It is not that zero work is involved, but 90% of the work is done and the smell is gone!!!!! I love it and I am so happy and now I can possibly become a cat person...... I am still babysitting little Sam.

I have two 4month old cats, i love them to death but cleaning the litter box every day sometimes twice a day on top of work and college courses and taking care of a family was a bit much. This product went above and beyond. i use plastic sacks in the recepticals to save money there and it also saves you a ton of litter. just becareful not to over fill. i usually fill to half way between the fill line and full line. i don't recommend just leaving the machine for 3 or 4 days without checking on it, as i found out after 2 days my cats managed to turn the power strip off and i was back to scooping until there was just small amounts left for the machine to handle. i use the arm and hammer all natural corn clumping litter and it works great for me, i know everyone has their own recommendations but because this litter was so different from what my cats were used to, i just switched to this litter in their old litter box, then set up the new beside it and after 2 days i removed the old litter box completely and never looked back. its a great buy. i change the trash bag every two days and use the brush they give you to tidy it up a bit. the only down fall is some how litter manages to get underneath the ramp and of course the cats track it out so i recommend getting a small hand held vacuum so you don't have to drag the big one out every time.

i got one of the first littermaids automatic litter boxs in 1999 and it is still working as if it was just bought i will buy another one if and when this one quits

I have 5 cats now but when I purchased the Mega Maid 4 years ago (yes 4 yrs and still going strong) we had 6. I think I paid $90 on sale and the younger cats age 3 love it. I also have a manual litter box for the older 2 cats (set in their ways don't like modern I guess. I can't speak for the new models, but the one I have is terrific in fact I plan to get another one this week and that is why I came to the site and thought I would put a review in. Let me say this the COPY Cats automatics DON"T WORK, i've tried 2 don't waste your money on them.

This is the second Littermaid Mega litterbox I have owned. The first one lasted 4 years with 3 cats. I tried the Mega Elite but it did not remove the waste from the box at all. Only the original Littermaid Mega litterbox works. I would recommend this product to anyone who has multiple cats since it eliminates the need to sift the letter several times a day.
