Works well with the cheap 6ft umbrellas. I bought a 7ft tilting umbrella which weighs 3.5lbs and every breeze ripped the anchor and umbrella out of the sand like a hot knife thru butter.
This thing is metal and big! Its awesome! I don't know why I thought it was going to be plastic? I was pleasantly surprised to pull it out of the box and it was metal! It feels very well built and sturdy!
I purchase these ten at a time for use at a resort. They used to last 6 month to a year before they'd rust out. Now (in the last few months) the ones I purchased are bending at the screw and the handle - as if they weren't welded properly. Can't be fixed - just a waste of money! I really loved this product but the supplier has changed the quality! Don't even bother unless you need it for only a couple of days.
Although a bit awkward to transport, the Sandgrabber is easy to use and performs as advertised. We discovered that digging a hole in the sand first and then using the Sandgrabber worked best. The lock-not is a nice feature because it keeps the beach umbrella from wobbling in the wind. The price is also fair.
Works perfectly in high, windy beach weather. Used it for an umbrella that I tried to just stick in the sand unsuccessfully. But this anchor held the umbrella in place.
