Great for throwing over fence to pasture and not having to worry about possums and what not getting in the bucket and peeing.

I bought this fence feeder to hold free feeding salt. It's just the right size, I got the smaller size and it's a round bucket. Perfect for keeping the salt clean.

This is great for shows or to make large supplements like beet pulp and not having to tranfer bucket to bucket. However, I was expecting a feeder that was square, not round. It was hard to keep balanced once it was on the rail, but for the price it gets my job done. Just wished it was matching the picture.

I ordered the 8qt, but I really needed the 12qt for my mare and her large face. It works well though. I do not have it nailed down, so she gets it off the fence easily, but has not destroyed it yet. Pretty durable for her not to break it in the cold weather! I would recommend the 12qt for a normal size horse and to either nail or screw it to the fence.
