Miracle-Gro AeroGarden AeroVoir Reservoir

I love Areovoir. I don't have to worry about my plants when I go away for a few days. The only thing is I wish the tube was black and the tank had a cover. This would help to prevent algae. I use a towel to cover it until I can come up with something that would look better

Works well to extend the water availability of your garden as well as keep the garden topped off for maximum yield. They do tend to grow algae. I kind of wish the tubing was black and the jug had a covering that would limit it but one can convert it over without to much trouble. It would be nice if it was set to go out of the box. Instructions need an update. Some gardens don't have information on wether you need the riser or not. If you're buying this for a Farm or a Harvest Elite you need the riser.

I wanted to give this product a higher rating but due to the manipulation that I constantly have to do to keep it "automated" I am not able to rate it any higher. I explicitly followed the instructions provided and it just does not supply water unattended. I had to find a "sweet spot" by adjusting the height of the base in order for it to automatically supply water. It took quite a bit of trial and error to find the exact perfect height and it still requires monitoring and adjustment from time to time. Far too much manipulation required than advertised.

The AeroVoir Reservoir does provide much needed watering capabilities, especially when it is inconvenient to manually add water. The only thing I could suggest that might make it a better product would be to make both the reservoir and the tube that goes from the reservoir to the bowl of the garden opaque, rather than clear. I say this since I've found that algae can appear not only in the reservoir but also in the tube that goes from the reservoir into the garden. Since the reservoir has to be situated relatively close to the garden the light from the grow lights produces the algae. If you made the reservoir opaque, but with a small vertical clear spot on it, you would know how much water is still in the reservoir without allowing enough light to cause an algae bloom. I've found that by wrapping a towel around the reservoir, and also shielding the tube from it to the garden, algae can be all but eliminated. However, it would be much more practical to construct the tubing and the reservoir as I indicated above. Other than that, it's a good product, especially for those folks who travel a bit and need a continual water supply to keep the plants healthy.

The autofill feature works perfectly. You have to pay attention to the height of your garden and use the option riser stand appropriately. I have two gardens and adapted the tube with a splitter to enable filling both garden tanks off a single reservoir bottle.
