Murray 16" 25cc 2-Cycle Straight Shaft Gas String Trimmer

For the brand thats barely even known this weed eater works like a champ. For what I paid it definitely gets the job done. Ive only owned it for two weeks. Over time ill have to wait and see if its tough enough to stand its ground through the wear and tear. For anyone thats looking to purchase a reasonable weed eater thats light and strong this "16 Murray is definitely the one especially for small lawns.

We bought this and a mower for our son as a wedding gift. (They needed this, even though it's sort of a strange gift!) He is tall, so the straight shaft trimmer was recommended over the curved one. Since he hasn't used it much yet, I don't know how it will hold up. Reviews on it were good, however, and that it why I bought this brand.

I have used it a couple of times and ran it out of gas just to see how easy it is to restart and it started right back up after I filled it up. I am very Pleased with it. I have worked on trimmers for the last 30 years and this one is really good. Plus you can get different attachments for it too.

This is the first gas trimmer that I have ever owned. I assembled the trimmer in about 5 minutes, followed the instructions and it started right up. The power of this trimmer really caught me off guard. There is a night and day difference between this trimmer and electric trimmers. With my electric trimmer I would have to go over the same spot a few times to cut the weeds in my yard and sometime the weeds would just get pushed over without being cut. With this Murray gas trimmer you only need to go over a spot once and it cuts everything in its path. The string that this trimmer comes with is very durable. I used very little while trimming my yard. Murray brand replacement spools of string are reasonably priced, around $7 at my local Walmart. The curved shaft model of the Murray trimmer is $10 cheaper, but I decided to go with the straight shaft because I read that the straight shaft model is easier on your back if you are taller, I am 6'2". The trimmer is very easy to maneuver and it's feels lighter than the electric trimmer it replaced. The freedom of this gas trimmer is great. No more wrangling a hundred feet of extension cord for me. I don't think I will ever buy an electric trimmer again. Will purchase this brand of trimmer again when the time comes.

Hard to start. Runs a tad weak. I gave it threestars bbecause of the price, it was cheap. Don't expect an echo quality trimmer. I replaced an old old echo with this trimmer and should have spent more money and got another echo. Buy the two year protection plan. I did. I have a feeling I'm going to need it.
