I tried this for a week and then put it back in the box and went back to my previously replaced head (about 2 years old). This head is based on large discs. The heads are loose and not tied into the head like the original. The original had its heads embedded in plastic and moved much more smoothly over the face. The disks tend to bite into your skin (no cuts, just not a smooth flow for shaving). The head also has a weird vibration, especially when shaving the chin where all three blades are not touching the skin. Bottom line I think Philips redesigned the head to be less expensive to manufacture. In any case, I think it is an INFERIOR product and if I hadn't used it for a week I'd ask for a refund.

The older RQ12 is a better performer than the RQ12+. The new one tends to pull the hairs as opposed to actually cutting them off. The older version is way better as far as comfort of the shaving experience goes. If my wife had not of thrown the old RQ12 head away, I would have changed back to the older version and had the blades sharpened. I just like the old version lots better. I have used the 1250C Sensor Trac3d since it was originally introduced. LOVE IT.

I have used Philips/Norelco razors for forty years and I must say that I am disappointed with the performance of this shaver head and with the SensoTouch 3D 1250X. I find that I must run the shaver over the same spot several times, particularly on the jaw line, to achieve a clean shave. Though familiar with Philips/Norelco shavers, with this shaver head I am constantly trying to adjust the pressure and stroke on my face to achieve the desired results. This shaver head truly makes shaving a chore.

I was still using a shaving head (RQ12) which had the easy to use flip up cutters which made cleaning much more convenient than the than the new replacement head (RQ12/62). The new head is more cheaply made yet cost considerably more than the original.

The ease of cleaning is greatly improved over the original heads. Also, we are now able to move the heads to different locations which greatly enhances longevity. The somewhat more angled heads takes a little getting used to but seems to be working out OK.
