[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this trainer cup through the Stellar Product Testing Panel. My child is still working on learning how to drink from a cup. She doesn't quite understand how to tip the cup to get the water out yet. The benefit of this cup is that it prevents water from flying out when she shakes it, but still feels like drinking from the lip of an open cup. The adjustable flow and lock-mode are nice features. I adjusted the lid to the lowest flow. It still allows the water to spill out fairly quickly if dropped or tipped over, but it's better than no lid. I would probably recommend cleaning the cup in the dishwasher if possible. It has a lot of small spaces that are hard to get at by hand. That is the only minor drawback of this cup, as far as I'm concerned.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was excited to receive this cup to review through Stellar Product Testing, as I have two kids 1yo and 2yo. I was not impressed with the cup. I fist tried it with my 1yo who seemed to understand how to drink from it, but even the slowest flow she ended up soaked. I then tried it with my 2yo who uses an open cup at school. He didn't understand how to drink from it and would try to drink from the top part when the cup was tilted, which ended up making him spill water everywhere. Overall, I love the idea os the adjustable flow knob so we will keep working on it, but it was a miss with both my kids. I'm sure it just takes practice. It is easy to clean and cute design, so I appreciate that!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a mother of 5, I like to consider myself rather experienced with most of the aspects of training my kiddos. However, I have always trained my kiddos to use sippy cups (both with spouts and with straws) before moving into open-faced cup drinking. It is only with my youngest that I have learned that those other methods can actually be a little detrimental to the way my kiddos learn to naturally drink. This NUK Sip Trainer Cup allows me to help my youngest one practice that natural form of drinking without as much spillage as just going straight to a traditional cup. Notice I say "as much" spillage, because there is definitely still plenty of wet clothes and messes to clean. This cup has 3 modes that allow through different levels of water- we have not made it out of the absolute slowest mode yet and my son has still soaked his clothes a few times. I have even had my 2-year-old try it as he is learning "big kid cups" but has not yet mastered them. He also spills with this cup, but I do think it helps him learn. I have noticed he is more careful when using a regular cup than he was before trying this training cup so I think, if nothing else, it did help with his perception. I did want to test how much water was coming out on the different flows so I tipped it over my sink. Granted, I tipped it straight upside down, but it did seem like quite a bit of water was still allowed out in the slowest setting. With that being said, you could definitely see the flow of water increase as you turn the dial up. The lock mode is fantastic and does prevent any water from coming out at all though, so I feel like my diaper bag is safe if I toss this in. It was also super easy to clean. We only use it with water so I just rinse it quickly with some dish soap and water in the sink but it is dishwasher safe which is quite convenient. Both my younger kiddos seem to be able to hold it easily but I do wonder if handles would be any even better option (although I dislike how much extra space they take up in my cupboard, ha!). All in all, despite the extra clean up right now, I feel like this will greatly decrease the time it takes for my son to move from infant cups into regular cups so I consider it worth it. I'm excited to have this, and have the Stellar Product Testing Panel to thank for sending it to me, although all opinions are 100% my own and authentic.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My son is the messiest kid there is and this cup is no match for him! He loved it so much it's the only cup he wants to use. I really enjoyed that you could adjust the flow! I have to go get some more because I need them! I received this product as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel and it did not disappoint at all!!! Thank you for making a great training cup!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a mom on the go, I appreciated receiving this Nuk Sip Trainer Cup as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. We put it to use immediately with my 13 month old. My child has mastered drinking from a straw but this was the first attempt at a more open cup. We used the lowest flow and after several tries, he is well on his way to mastering this. He is able to hold the cup quite well on his own as long he grabs it in the middle where it is skinnier. There were a few frustrating sessions when he attempted to hold it higher or lower and his little hands couldn't get around the cup but he is more consistent now with grabbing it in the right spot. We've adjusted the flow to be a little faster for water, but it is convenient to dial it back down for milk or juice until he has more practice. This cup travels well without spilling due to the lock mode. I am confident enough to tuck it in the pocket of the diaper bag for easy access. Upon getting back home after an outing, it is easy to clean on the top shelf of the dishwasher.
