nuvi 40 Automobile Portable GPS Navigator

Once we got it charged and past the opening screens and acceptances, it worked perfectly. We got it to help us around the western states of America, during our extended visit from New Zealand (aka Hobbiton, Middle Earth). So far it has been great to get us around Los Angeles and Anaheim areas with no real problems. We are looking forward to the rest of the trip with "Michelle" guiding us!

This GPS does not speak while the driving to your destination.............When at my destination, i looked at the device & touched the flag & then it told me i had arrived. Good thing this was a trial run, & I new where I was going, or I would have indeed been lost. So, what's the purose of having have the device. There is/was no manuel in he box for instructions to operate. I will be returning this GPS for a refund. Thank you

My wife asked me to buy this for an upcoming car trip she's making. I've been playing around with it and, yes, it works, pretty well, actually. However, the truth is that it nowhere near the capabilities of my Android™ phone. With the phone I just tell it where I want to go, with the GPS everything must be typed in and it seems limited as to how much info it can process, plus the way the “search” is set up is somewhat clunky, everything must be perfect as there is no intuitiveness to the device. I just wonder how much longer makers of products like this can stay around. I would think that retail for an item like this would be feasible at around twenty bucks, but this was over 60 which seem a lot for an “old fashioned” device that is basically already out of the loop.

Every thing works as represented. I haven't taken any long trips but I use it when I don't need it just for familiarization and to check it's dependability. So far it is spot on. I am 67 years old and I can still see the screen well and the sound for directions enuciates well. So far I see no problem with the small size. I would say it was worth the money.

Great product with all the basic features. The only down fall for my use, is it does not tell you the street you r on.
