This worked fine for 2 years and 3 months until the touch screen sensitivity decreased greatly in the zoom area. It will usually respond if you push the + or - button quickly 5 times or more but it becomes so time consuming and annoying that I switch to one of our cell phones. And we only used this unit about once a month so it is not that we wore it out. Poor quality.

Great little unit, but not as intuitive and the 255/265WT units. My 265WT GPS finally bit the dust after five years of great service, although I still have my 255WT. The 52LM was recommended from several sites as a suitable replacement, so I went for it. I am an avid geocacher and use my GPS devices to drive to my hunting grounds. It does play nicely with geocaching programs and is geocaching-friendly. The screen on the 52LM is clearer, brighter and of course bigger by almost 3/4". I love the junction view - very nice addition. The voice is clear and not as mechanical sounding as some of the other Garmin GPSes, but it does have a bit of trouble with correct pronunciations. The 255/265WT was much more accurate. One major thing I do not miss however is the annoying "recalculating" if I drive off route. This unit boots up faster and acquires satellites sooner than the 255/265WT. The most negative things I can say about the 52LM is that the individuality of the POI icons is completely gone. They're all child-like little doodles inside a "cute little blue bubble" with no labels and no capacity to interact with icon macros to correct this goof. Also, you cannot bulk delete favorites. You must delete each one individually and getting to the proper screen to do so is very clumsy. The battery life is way shorter than the 255/265WT units; about 2 hours from a full charge yet it does recharge much faster than the 255/265WT. But the biggest selling points are the lifetime maps and larger memory capacity. If you're seeking a no-frills, no whistles and bells automotive GPS, this is the one for you. Oh, you'll need to download the manual from online, too. Otherwise, it's a bargain GPS.

This is my third Garmin and a total disappointment. We travel extensively and have always relied upon other Garmin units with no problem except that now they are outdated with no lifetime maps. the reviews on this one were mostly good but we have found that the directions seem to be written by someone who has never seen a map. We traveled from RI to NH recently and thinking I would use the Garmin for a route better than the accustomed one , we were led hither and yon on a totally useless route . I liked the way the old one said "off route, recalculating" because then I knew I had missed a turn. this one says "continue on route". It often sent us North when we should obviously have gone South. If I can return this when I get home I will and buy a different Garmin because the company is a good one.

Bought with confidence , GPS came as if it was brand new and not refurbished . I tried looking for imperfections and none were visible . It functions properly and is very user friendly as most all Garmin products I have purchased throughout the years. I always buy the insurance plans on all my electronics have been in contact with water, kids and my clumsy hands. Buy the insurance C Y A. The majority of vehicles come with one installed today but even after paying 40 for my truck it didn't have one but did have a back up camera. Plus , it has a long lasting battery life so if I go hunting or need to mark way points I can save them for later. P.S get a handheld gps if you do a lot more of outdoors activities as its made solely for that purpose and is one excellent tool as a must be must need . Peace out to my brothers & sisters, Amen

I REALLY LIKE THIS NEW GARMIN. THE KEY BOARD IS MUCH LARGER THAN THE PREVIOUS GARMIN I OWN, SCREEN IS BIGGER. IF YOU CHOOSE TO BUY THIS PRODUCT YOU WON'T BE DISSAPOINTED. I BOUGHT THIS FOR MY 72 YEAR FATHER. HE WAS ABLE TO USE IT AFTER A FEW PRACTICE RUNS. GREAT PRODUCT FOR THE MONEY AND THE LIFETIME FREE MAPS IS A BONUS CONSIDERING ITS CLOSE TO 100 DOLLARS IF YOU HAVE TO PURCHASE THE MAPS SEPARATL.
