The first and second Clip on was 5 star. The one round one the mosquito still bite me. Change the way that use to. Also I bought 2 clip on refill and the bar code ending on 19 work and the one with bar 20 isn't fix in the clip on
I have had all versions of this product from when they were first released until now. The first version was awesome. Long Battery life, durable, good strong motor on the fan. Teardrop design to keep it on your belt. 4 batteries made it last all day/night. The second generation was okay, but they fell off your belt way to easy. Cheaper clip can break. swivel design was a gimmick than made it harder to keep from falling off. The new round model are terrible design wise. They still repel the same it seems, However, The clip part is weaker, and one broke first use. cheaper fan motors. If you sit in a camp chair, it will either break off your belt or fall off. Either the oblong or round versions don't last as long on batteries. Bring back the Original Model. It didn't have the swivel, and because all of the weight was below the belt hook, it didn't fall off. When I go camping, I am out for a long time. The batteries in the new ones need to be changed more than once a day which is annoying. The new refills, even though they say work with both older models, frequently don't allow the fan to turn on without some messing around with it. BRING BACK THE ORIGINAL MODEL PLEASE!!!!
I only just now bought several units due to being skeptical about it's effectiveness, however due to repeatedly hearing positive word of mouth and it even being recommended by my veterinarian, I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised and very happy with the product. A major reason i had kept from purchasing any until now was my concern that it would not work or be safe for my purposes - which primarily is walking my dogs outside. I have a very large "yard" and my house sits almost in the middle, so it takes a long time to take a walk around the whole yard (which I do several times daily, whether it be a 5/10 minute potty break or a longer walk for exercise and leisure for the dogs). Mosquitos are a HUGE problem here, though, and makes being outside unbearable (even my dogs would sometimes become distracted by them since as many as 20 or 30 mosquitos at a time might fly all around us and follow us....) my dogs would even resort to biting at the air in an attempt to stop the mosquitos lol. Out of concern for their health and comfort (as well as my own) I quickly called my vet and, on her recommendation, went and bought 4 of these clip on units. I wondered about the fact that we wouldn't be stationary, but instead more like "stop and go" as we alternate between walking and pausing as the dogs stop to either smell, investigate, or potty... Well, I've only used the clips on's 3 times now (since I just bought them and only been on 3 walks) and have been almost astonished to see no mosquitos around us, especially the dogs. The few mosquitos I saw would come near us and then fly elsewhere. I hope this continues to be my experience, because its just wonderful. Also, as I'm very cautious when it comes to my animals, i was still concerned about the "toxicity" to my dogs, despite the assurances from my vetrinarian- so instead of clipping the units onto their harnesses, I attach them to their leashes about 2 feet up from where the leash and harness clasp together. This way, the unit is nowhere near their faces and also not resting on or consistently blowing on their fur and bodies, but instead it perfectly hangs above the rear section of them, just before their tails. This also enables me to "control" the units by using the leash to move it to their sides or anywhere around them to ensure they are protected as we walk. So far, the only small issue I have is that because of the 360° rotating clip, it is impossible to turn the unit off unless I use both hands to grab and turn the unit off, having to carefully make sure I don't twist too far and open the refill slot. It can be annoying because apart from sometimes holding things like a cell phone, I am always holding onto leashes when I come to my front door and need to turn the units off. It is a little frustrating, yet still a small price to pay to have a shield from those horrid mosquitos!
I have had this new version for months. Maybe I'm just brain dead, as my husband is too, but we can't even get the top off of it to put the insert in! What!!!!! I just keep using my "old blue" and I guess I'm protected because there are no indicators on it to know whether the insert is empty or not. Help!
I was attending a lot of football games in South TX where there are a lot of mosquitos. I started wearing an Off Clip-on to the games and was amazed at how well it works! While other patrons were swatting at mosquitos and getting bitten, I did not have any pests to deal with wince I was wearing the Off clip-on.
