Pathways & Dawns

This is the debut album from former Dead Can Dance drummer/percussionist Peter Ulrich. Enlisting the aid of long-time friend Brendan Perry of Dead Can Dance, Ulrich reveals his own distinctive voice and direction on Pathways and Dawns. Approaching a style similar the art-pop territory explored by Brian Eno, John Cale and Jah Wobble, Ulrich's musical acumen reads on influences as diverse as the percussive instruments he employs. Pathways And Dawns is a mystical ramble among lavish strings, swirling pipes and horns, sonrous 12-strings guitars, an ever-abundant assortment of drums and percussion and Ulrich's own euphonious, sweetly smooth multi-layered vocals.
