Been using this in my 2019 Hyundai sonata ever since it was new and the motor feels as new as day one still.

I used Pennzoil Ultra Platinum every oil change from the time I bought my new car. And I already put 135k miles on it and it runs like new as comment also from other people borrowing my car. My concern is that, why the old bottle(black) Ultra Platinum is dexos approved and the new bottle(Yellow) does not have the approval?

I did research on oil for a long time. Wow did I find out some things I didn't know about true synthetics and so called synthetic oils. Now a oil that you can put in you car and tell a difference in the way it runs, quiter, smoother, and two mpg better too. You know it is better the instant you start your car no joking. I started using this oil in my Toyota 2AZFE which has very small holes by the engine oil rings that if they get clogged up the engine will start to consume more engine oil. I have always changed the oil on time so it never did get totally clogged holes but they were clogged some because at 90,000 miles it was using 1/2 a quart of oil at 5,000 miles, which according to Toyota is still okay but I knew the holes were getting clogged because it started kind of fast, not like the engine was wearing out. So In my research for a cure to clean the piston holes I saw that this oil was very good at cleaning and has very low burn off when compared to many other oils. I have been using this ultra now for the last two oil changes and the last oil change of 6,000 miles it had only used 1/8 a quart of oil. There is no mistake that this oil is better. I will be using it in all my cars from now on. Thanks for a good product Pennzoil !

I have a 2012 Acura TL with Honda's J-series engine. I switched to the Ultra Platinum based on some info from Bobistheoilguy and so far I'm happy with it. The 0W-20 isn't easy to find. And it's not cheap. Performance of oil is largely on a microscopic level which is difficult to detect. Most perceived differences from one brand to another are largely anecdotal. However, I've noticed that the engine is quieter and smoother and that my mileage has increased since switching from Mobil 1. Also, I drive Uber and put about 30K-40K miles on the car per year. And much of that is in stop-and-go traffic so I'd prefer the best oil I can get (sans the "boutique" oils). Based on that alone, I'll continue to use it.
