I received this product as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel, right before our out of town trip. I was concerned about introducing a new brand and bottle to my breastfed baby, however, this was a lifesaver. The 4 pack is great to have extras available, again a plus when traveling. The slow flow number two works the best and eliminates nipple confusion. Both bottle and nipple are easy to wash, with easy disassemble and reassemble process. My 10 month old had major colic issues and this product caused no issues or spit up. We are using the bottle now more for her water, and again the nipple number two is best so that it does not cause leakage. Solid material and easy to grip chubby little hands. The nipple bottle cover is sturdy and stays on. I would recommend in the 4 pack to include an additional nipple bottle cover, but that is not a deal breaker. There are other brands available for breastfed and colic babies. Every baby is different. I would suggest that you at least try this Avant product as it may be your own lifesaver.
Thank you weeSpring Parent Panel for these bottle nipples. My little guy took to these right away with no problem. My son is about 3 months old and is mostly breast fed. He had no problem using these nipples. The nipple has a good design. I find some nipples can be a little long and gag my son sometimes but that did not occur while using these. Also, my son tends to be gassy and I did not notice him having gas after using these.
My baby took to the bottle without any problem but it was nice to have a variety of nipples to choose from to see which one he liked best. It's nice because you don't get that with any other bottle. My baby didn't have a preference between any styles but he's not that picky. He does have reflux though so anything that can help reduce it is a big help. I like that the bottle had a piece in it to help divert the extra air. You can even hear the air flow! Thank you to WeeSpring Parent Panel for the opportunity to try this bottle.
This bottle really slowed down my daughter when eating. She really struggled with the nipple at first since it is firmer and a different shape than the Avent Natural that she is used to. The nipple seems to be a little narrower which caused her to leak formula while eating. She did eventually get used to it. Due to it being firm and narrow I think a breastfed baby may struggle to interchange between this nipple and the breast. The flow matched her need. It wasn't so fast that she couldn't keep up with it but it wasn't so slow that it collapsed. I like that I can change the nipple as she grows to adapt to her needs. I think this nipple will stand up to the dishwasher and other methods of sanitizing. It seems to be a quality product. As far as gas and fussiness, I didn't notice much difference from the bottle/nipple she was already using. She tends to get excited when eating and gulps a lot. She did get some gas but was able to pass it easily. Assembly was easy. Just simply pull the nipple through the ring in all directions until it "snaps" into place. And to disassemble for washing pull it back through. To clean, use your standard bottle brush with the nipple cleaning brush. Overall I am happy with this nipple. Thanks weeSpring Parent Panel for allowing me to test this product.
I have been using these nipples daily for roughly 2 weeks now. To say my son is picky is an understatement. We have tried many different brands, and flow rates, but never find something he likes, and that doesn't leave him with painful gas. He took these nipples well, and didn't fight them a bit. I truly believe slow flow nipples are the way to go when breastfeeding, and also feeding expressed milk. Even his babysitter commented on how much better he did with these nipples vs what we had used in the past. Will definitely be purchasing more of these before I go back to work again so that he will eat good! I was given these Nipples to try as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel.
