Philips Avent Classic+ Medium Flow Nipples, SCF633/27, 2 count

I was fortunate enough to try this product through the weeSpring Parent Panel. I love the variety that Avent offers, and we are an Avent bottle family. The medium flow was perfect for my BF baby, especially because I naturally have a fast flow. I'm not sure how much the nipple actually reduced gas, but he took it easily, even with mama in the room! Great company and products.

I have a 5 month old baby boy that is half breast half bottle fed. I have been using a different bottle brand with a medium flow nipple when I prepare bottles. I had not seen the Philips Avent Anti-colic baby bottle until I received the product through the weespring Parent Panel in exchange for my review. My baby was not excited to use the bottle, but he never really is when I give him bottles. I found out that the Philips Avent Anti-colic baby bottle is what my mother in law uses when she watches my son. She says that he does really well on the slow flow nipple. We tried the medium flow nipple and it was a little fast for him. He would take a sip and choke a little before trying again. It is nice to have options of different flow levels, when he is a little older we will likely try the medium flow again. I think that these nipples/bottles help with the gas and colic. My baby seems calmer and happier. He isn't tooting or spitting up as much.

I received the Philips Avent Anti-colic baby bottle MEDIUM FLOW, 4pk to test as part of the WeeSpring Parent Panel. My 6-month-old son preferred the medium flow nipples, as opposed to the ones that came on the bottle, and he took to them right away without issue. It is very helpful to have flow choices with the nipples so I don't have to purchase entirely new bottles as my son grows, and for now I think the medium flow was perfect, and we can move into the faster flowing nipples as he gets older. The other bottles he is used to have a wider nipple base (the portion under the nipple itself that is inserted into the mouth, where his lips rest when he is feeding), and he did have some trouble with "gapping" at the base and formula dribbling out of his mouth. It didn't seem to bother him (or he didn't even notice), but it made for more clean up and more stopping in the middle of feedings to wipe his mouth. I did notice that he didn't burp as much after feeding with the Philips Avent Anti-colic baby bottles, and when he did spit up it was less and much later (maybe 20-30 minutes after feeding, as opposed to within 5 minutes of finishing a bottle). All in all, I believe HE was more comfortable, due to less burping and less spit up, so I'll take the additional clean up any day if he's happier. I continue to use these bottles and recommend them highly, especially if you have a particularly gassy baby.

As a nursing mom, I like to ensure that the flow of milk for my son when bottle feeding is a comfortable and consistent rate to avoid reflex and/or gas symptoms. Also, depending on how attentive my son is while feeding, having a choice in rate of flow is desirable. For these reasons, the choices available to me with the Avent products is extremely important to me! During our trial with the product, my son transitioned seamlessly to these nipples and also helped to alleviate any discomfort symptoms following a feeding. A fussy baby is no parent's dream, so this was a wonderful plus to end a feeding with a content baby. I also found the nipples to be durable, even with my son's time to time biting now that he has a few teeth. I would highly suggest these nipples to any parent looking for variety and to alleviate side effects following feedings.

The Phillips Anti-colic baby bottles are hands-down my favorite baby bottles! I just had my 5th child in 6 years (so I'm familiar with baby bottles, y'all) and he LOVES his bottles. I love that the nipples come in a variety of flows so it can grow and adjust with your baby's needs. We started with a slow flow and moved up to the medium flow when he started working harder to feed. The medium flow nipples were the perfect adjustment for him. He also hasn't had any gas issues or fussiness after feedings while we've been using these bottles and nipples. I can't imagine NOT using these.
