Fellowes Powershred P-57Cs - shredder

The new innovative Fellowes P-57Cs with Patent-Pending Safe Sense Technology features an active sensor that stops shredding immediately when paper entry is touched. Designed for light duty shredding in the home or home office, the Fellowes Powershred P-57Cs reduces documents to 5/32" x 2" higher security confetti particles, and shreds up to 8 sheets per pass, 10-20 times per day, for a total daily capacity as high as 160 sheets. Equipped with a 9" wide paper entry, the P-57Cs easily accepts standard letter or legal size documents. The durable steel cutters also accept credit cards and staples.

We've been waiting to get a shredder for quite some time and when this one arrived. We couldn't wait to use it. We started shredding right away on it. It handles papers wonderfully, we mainly use it to shred expired Library cards and applications along with a few personal things. The safety feature where the sensor notices fingers close to the opening is good as it shuts off when this happens. The window feature is nice where you can see how full the shredder is.

I've been looking for a new shredder literally for years and I'm glad I stumbled onto this Fellowes one. My life is literally so much more organized, neater, and I feel my info is safer because I'm able to more easily shred sensitive information. It doesn't pile up any more and whenever I want to shred, this machine works and so I never have to put it off. It's been great.

I recieved my shedder and started using it right away. I paid a little bit more than I wanted, but this model fits the best for me. Nice size and the shreds are good and clean. No problems in my shredding as of yet as I have had this unit for over 2 weeks. Have serviced cheap to industrial models and this model is beefy enough to last for quite a while. A little noisier than I thought, but not bad.

This shredder works really well! It is easy to use, and really shreds a lot at once. I can shred an entire envelope of one of those "credit card offers" I hate getting at once! I am doing a lot of catch up shredding after my Staples shredder died after 6 months (at 2x the price), and it is keeping up nicely. I do need to give a break for about 20 minutes or so after continual shredding. I find it a bit quieter than other shredders, and the teeth are easier to clean. Would not hesitate to buy this brand again!

I was just looking for a shredder for use a few days a week. I have used the Powershred brand before, and have always been happy with it. I would give it 5 stars, but wish for the price, that they would make the basket a pull-out, so one doesn't have to lift the heavy shredding unit off every time to empty the shreds when full. I think for the price, they could have easily made it a little easier. The actual shredding of items, thick to thin, few to many sheets works well. I have even shredded a credit card in it as it says you can, with no problems!
