I bought my sewing machine and then ended up receiving another one so I took this one back. The only reason I did not keep it was because I no longer needed it. I did not even get a chance to open up the box. I wished I would have kept it in case my other sewing machine does not work out. I could not believe the price of this Brother 100 stitch computerized sewing machine. It is usually close to $300.00 so at $89.00 this is an amazing buy!! I still am going to give this sewing machine 5 stars for the price, the amount of stitches, and all of the features that it offers. I have never seen a machine with all of these features for this price. I have read all of the other reviews and it seems like most of the people were satisfied with their sewing machine.
Come on! The shaft was bent on this thing right out of the box causing the needle dragged across the bobbin casing as it sewed. Plus not all of the stiches would work. This is the second time I have bought a brother sewing machine refurbished and it is the second time I had to take it back. Very bad quality control.
This is a neat little machine. It took awhile for me to get up enough nerve to start using it. I think I must have read over the instructions about 6 times. Once started, I was impressed. There are not too many features this machine is lacking that my expensive Janome has. It's lightweight and easy to carry. It didn't come with a carrying case but I did get a "Universal Carry Case" and it fits fine. The reason I bought it was because the Janome has to go in for repair. Was it worth the money? Yes. Do I like it? Yes. Would I recommend it? Definitely.
My current sewing machine is an old 1950s Kenmore that weighs too much to drag along to classes. So.... I set out to find one I could take with me. The guy that services my old sewing machine recommended that I get a brother. After I did some research, I settled for this one. I have to admit that I was very skeptical about purchacing a refurbished machine, but I did it anyway. Thankfully, I could not be more satisfied with this purchase. The machine looks brand new, was nicely wrapped, and came with all the parts. The user manual is easy to read. Also, all the the stiches work fine. I have not found a thing wrong! It works like a charm. I have only used cotton and cotton blend materials so far. I did find a brother tutorial on youtube that explained the auto threader, which actually turned out to be childs play. I am a novice at sewing, however, this machine runs as well as my teacher's sewing machines that are way more expensive. This brother gets two thumbs up from me.
This is the most awesome machine I have ever owned. It is so easy to thread and use. With a 25 year parts warranty you cant go wrong. I recommend that everyone get one!
