This trimmer does a great job trimming nose hair when it works, but doesn't last more than 8-9 months, I'm on my 3rd or 4th one. The problem I think is mainly with the removal cutting blade, as it gets used more it tends to jam, 1 battery motor is not powerful enough. I expected better from Remington.

The on/off switch stopped functioning before the 1st battery died! The good news is that Remington is sending a replacement that will hopefully work better? [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I've never purchased any other product that lasts such little time. I purchased one about two years ago and fortunately it worked two years with sparing use, maybe once or twice a week. But I had to constantly open the head to align the plastic moving part to the trimmer head for it to work, otherwise would get jammed on every use. What a pain in the butt. I just purchased another one about a month ago after first one failed and this new one was used again only once or twice a week at most and died out of the blue after just the one month. No dead battery, no overuse, no trauma to the trimmer from throwing it against the wall like I felt like doing - I hardly used the thing! This one also jammed up before every use and I had to realign the plastic insert into the head each time. Longevity and quality are its weakest assets, not to mention performance as it drains the battery pretty quickly, and when battery gets about to about 1/3 level (2/3 used), it starts stuttering and yanks the hairs right out of you. Not happy at all and will not buy ever again.

OK, I've accepted the fact that these things only last about six to eight months--that's not really ACCEPTABLE, but the design is the only kind I like and when this model works, it works very well. But the last one I bought lasted ONE USE. ONE. I used it, removed the battery carefully to prevent drain (another trick I've learned) and stored it safely in a drawer. Now it's completely dead. Never buying a Remington product again.

Wish I would have read the reviews first for this product. It wasn't the cheapest or the most expensive but for the price, it should last more than 3 months. As stated in other reviews, it falls apart very easily and now it just flat out doesn't work (changed battery and reassembled multiple times). Spend the money and get a better product.
