Ridgid K 30 Auto Clean Drain Machine

tool worked well the first time it was used to unclog kitchen sink. I went to use it for a second time to unclog a bathroom sink. The sink is still clogged and the tool blew up.

The K-30 claims to have a 30' cable length but falls roughly 3' short of that. I needed to clean out a 27' drain pipe and was only able to get 23.5' into the drain pipe. The blockage is towards the tail end of the drain pipe so I was unable to unplug the last 3'. I wish I would of purchased a different drain snake but it's to late now.

used k-30 for the 3rd time ,will not feed forward or reverse ,cable kinks have to press hard on handle and still no feed .bearings are a very poor feature on this machine ,ugh what has happened to quality of a product compared to quantity ,I am sorry to sat that rigid is now a poor quality product .throw aways is what they sell now ,or made in CHINA .

I used the K-30 sink machine to clear a blockage and the auto feed mechanism is useless. I had to press on the lever so hard that my hand was sore . This was my second time using this machine. The auto feed design using the bearing rollers is " BAD". I spent more time trying to feed the cable into the drain . I called customer service and basically was told to follow the the troubleshooting guide. The only reason I bought the K-30 was to save time with the auto feed mechanism but instead it wasted a lot of my time. Now I have a tool that I can't use.

On my first use, the K-30 made very quick work of a tub/shower drain clog and a lavatory drain clog. I was impressed and glad I made this purchase. On balance, the cable twisted during retrieval and developed a permanent kink. I'm not sure if the cable will feed properly the next time I use it, so I'm thinking of ordering a spare replacement cable to have on hand just in case.
