Schmidt's Natural Deodorant, Ylang-Ylang + Calendula, 2 Oz

I personally would suggest paying no mind to the first review. A lack of knowledge of proper usage, of a delivered product does not constitute a 1-star review. From the review, it seems the person has never used any Schmidt's deodorant at all, or natural products in general. The texture is firm, but easily melts just in the hands; much easier than other natural hair care products, for example natural shea butter, which I must heat to melt, and add to my hair, is no comparison, and its just the natural form of shea butter. (I have thick textured hair, to the middle of my back). Appropriate short review. I am not vegan, a super health guru, or all-natural needing customer. I have a few medical skin conditions under control. After a horrifically painful flare up, which caused much of the skin in my underarms to fall off, became raw, treated medically, no deodorant of any type for about 1.5 months. Once healed my underarms were sensitive. I used normal sensitive deodorant before, due to my physical job working with animals. However not even the most expensive sensitive deodorants worked. When I say worked I mean, do a good job at keeping my underarms odor free for at least most of the day with no more than 2 applications. Putting more on would cause more irritation. I use some natural hair care products; and came across Schmidt's, unscented natural deodorant. I was EXTREMELY skeptical, as it had no scent at all. I took a chance and purchased it; and for a year have not used any other natural deodorants. I had tried two other different brands, when Schmidt's was out of stock, but both did not have the same quality, and hold up as Schmidt's has. Quality& Texture: Like many natural products, the textures are not the same. This deodorant is no different. It being in a pretty nice glass jar, with a METAL not plastic spoon, makes it much easier to use, for its formula. Before these jars were created, I would apply the deodorant with my fingertips anyway. First off, I have tried prescription deodorants, 2 other natural brand deodorants, and very expensive sensitive skin deodorants. I have NO idea how Schmidt's makes such a unique formula. Its firm but has a cool smooth touch to it. There are instructions on how to properly apply in the box. I just remove some with the tiny spoon, or a finger, and rub just a dime sized amount, only about once which is enough for it to become smooth and apply under my arms. Now this is the part that I find fascinating honestly, and what makes it so outstanding, and the best deodorant period. It completely dries into your skin; not dry- and not wet feeling either. It feels like nothing. And I surely believed this won't work due to that, but I was wrong. I am someone who used to carry around a tiny deodorant, in my purse on workdays, or long days. Schmidt's not only keeps my underarms completely odor free, but dry as well, even when I am physically sweating. It also can last days, with one dime size application. And I am one in my opinion to have a sensitive nose to bad body odor and live with a roommate who is just as picky as me with cleanliness and freshness. After seeing how long just one jar would last, and how well it worked, particularly with my medical skin issues, she started using it as well. I cant say enough good about this product. Many natural products I've seen are overpriced and aren't worth it. This is times 10, but really in replace of any deodorant. ESPECIALLY if you are one like me who hates the feeling of wet underarms, odor, or has sensitive skin. I wasn't paid or asked to write this review. I don't really write reviews on Walmart.com at all. I just couldn't stand the 1 star rating, the in my opinion poor review left, for a product that has saved me a lot of funds, pain, and wet/odor ridden underarms. After my underarms fully healed, I the scarring turned bight pink and remained lightened spots for awhile. I never dared put anytype of healing ointment, or scar cream, and my underarm color has returned to normal, and is as healthy as ever. I have used the unscented, stick coconut/pineapple, stick rose, stick Ylang Ylang and the jar version. My favorite scent is Ylang-Ylang, however its rare where I live, and the jars are not in stores here, so I order online. Which is actually a bonus from buying in the store, or even from Schmidt's website where its more expensive, plus shipping.

Lovely scent. I appreciate the glass jar option, but would like to see no plastic lid or scoop. I do not sweat much but wanted to give it a try. I recommend.

Bought this looking for something in the natural line. It comes with a little tiny plastic applicator that removes part of the hard deodorant and bits. Basically the idea is you have to press that into your skin and it crumbles along the way and really pulls on your fragile underarms. For me this was a learning experience and how not to buy products without reading the recommendations. I think it would be a good product as the scent is pleasant but the application needs substantial improvement.
