Used to be available in 75 ounce and now you can only buy 45 ounce. Retailers selling it for even more than the 75 ounce used to cost. Rinse aid Required if you have hard water.

We love 7th Generation Dishwasher Detergent gel but have become uneasy about its plastic container and decided to try the powder. After just the first load, we quickly realized that there was now a salty taste on all the glasses and mugs, and we could see spots on glassware. These problems persisted with subsequent loads. Perhaps this has something to do with sodium chloride being the top ingredient? We're back to the gel; its formula does not rely on salt, and it does a good job, but we would like to find a plastic-free alternative.

I got this at my Co-op because my regular brand of free and clear powder was out of stock. This stuff is terrible. I fist noticed a salty taste on my coffee cup. Then on glass bowls and drinkware I saw a thick film and residue. I use a rinse aid and have a high quality Bosch dishwasher and never had this problem with my usual brand. I am sincerely disappointed because I really like the liquid dish soap from Seventh Generation. My advice would be to steer clear of this powder.

I bought this for the first time recently because it was the only unscented, loose dw powder on the shelf. BIG disappointment. I have had to check every piece as I empty the dishwasher - there is always gunk stuck on various pieces. I have to hand re-wash much of the flatware because is is so spotty. Tupperware-like containers always come out grimy. I have never had this problem with any other dw powder I've used, whether cheap or expensive. I'm sorry to say that I am throwing away my almost-full box of this product. And 'no' I do not want to chat with the SG customer service folk. I know that the solution is to use anything BUT this product.

I was so excited when I found this product. I have been using Seventh Generation dishwashing soap for years. I am so disappointed with the quality of this product. I have to have my dishes completely cleaned and rinsed before loading them into the dishwasher. Even then my glasses and silverware come out hideously spotted and filmy, and I use a premium rinse agent.
