Similac Alimentum Hypoallergenic For Food Allergies and Colic Infant Formula Powder, 19.8 oz (Pack of 4)

This formula was a godsend! We're first time parents and thought newborns were just fussy all of the time. We tried soy formula and it was a little easier on our baby than breastmilk, but still not great. Then our doctor gave us Alimentum samples and changed our world! Our baby is a much better sleeper and so much happier! It's expensive, but having a happy baby is priceless.

My 10 week old baby has had issues with eating since she was about a week old. Her skin would break out, she'd scream all day, and she couldn't pass gas. Pediatrician recommended soy. Soy made her spit up so much!! It smelled funny and she was still very fussy. I did some research and found alimentum. Wow what a game changer. We noticed a difference right away. Yes, the smell is weird, it's expensive, and she does pass gas a lot (easy for her to pass tho) but I would take any of those things over a miserable baby any day!

To make a LONG story short, our micro-preemie was born at 25 weeks gestation with an IUGR and weighed only 560grams (1lb4oz). When it came time to fortifying my breast milk to give her the extra calories she desperately needed, we immediately ran into problems. While the doctors explored their theories, I had a gut “Momma bear” feeling her tiny premature body was having difficulty processing the soy and bovine based fortifiers. Once the medical team finally realized it was in fact an allergy we were faced with the daunting task of what to feed her that would help her grow and still be gentle enough to be digested without issues. We did our research and decided to hold our breath and give Alimentum a chance. Our daughter is now a healthy and happy 5-month old (2 months adjusted) with ZERO medical concerns. I will never be able to adequately express my appreciation for the team of people who developed this product or to be able to explain the weight it has lifted off our overburdened hearts and minds during the scariest time of our family's journey. My son was really fussy and had bad eczema due to milk allergy, we tried soy formula but he didn't like it. once we started him on this formula his face started clearing up right away. Now my baby is happy and has baby soft skin again, so glad theres an option out there for extra sensitive babies. It does have a bad smell but you get used to it, I don't mind it whatever keeps my baby happy.

This was the 4th type of formula we were put on and it has done wonders for my son! He was screaming out in pain from horrible gas, spitting up and had eczema but now that's all better with alimentum. The first bottle on this formula we saw a difference in our baby. It has been a miracle for the both of us. I just wish you hadn't changed the can and scoop size. A smaller can with a bigger scoop that costs the same is kinda sad. Especially for those of us who do not qualify for wic.
