I was really hopeful to try this formula with my 5 week old son to supplement BF every so often as I go back to work. However within 2 hours of the first feeding (less than 2 ounces), lasting for the next 4 hours, my little one had severe and forceful vomiting of everything that went into his stomach and was just miserable. I have used the Similac Sensitive in the past and while he had some extra spit up and gas on that one, it didnt have any of the effect that this formula did on the first feeding. I was really disappointed but I guess it just happens sometimes. Maybe with babies with sensitive stomachs in any way this isnt a great choice?
After reading over a dozen labels when I was ready to transition baby from pumped milk to formula, this was the only label I read that did not have added sugar. I am still unclear what EXACTLY is the intended difference between this and the regular formula, other than the fact that this one does not have added sugar to the mix. There is some added salt which was not in the other Similac labels I read, but I am taking this trade off as an infant does not need added sugar to their diet.
My daughter was strictly breastfed from birth till 8months old. I introduced the similac for supplementation to see if maybe we could switch once she was 10 months. At first she wasn't a huge fan but now at a year and 2 weeks old it's all she drinks during the day and most of the night with one nursing session in the middle of the night. My daughter eats table food like any toddler but she occasionally needs a bottle or sippy with formula
My baby has been drinking regular Similac since he was born. He also drinks my breast milk, but with its low supply, he takes more than half of his calories from Similac. But recently (~4 month old), he started to refuse Similac (he was happy to drink my breast milk), so I switched to this and he drinks formula again. But since he needs 15-20 once of Similac every day, a large bottle would be very helpful.
I use the liquid supplement formula I've used it since day one I was extremely sick after me csection and ended up back in the hospital a week later this help her father at night time when she would get very fussy she just needed a little more than I was able to produce she's 11 weeks old now and we still have never had a problem with it!
