This cat scratcher is the best by far that I have bought for my cats. Really holds up well.

Positives: Cats are attracted to the material and will use it. Does not shed as much as a rope scratcher. Height is good for a cat that wants to stretch out. Negatives: It only lasted a months. The rope broke and unwound and the cats had no interest in it anymore. Needs to be made more durable.

I've purchased one similar to this from Walmart in the past and it was sisal rope not seagrass. My 7 kitties (ages 3-15 yrs old) are not attracted to this one. I've even sprayed catnip on it to entice them. They do scratch on the bottom base since it's carpet. I do love the bigger size pole and it's slightly taller than the one we have. We'll see as time goes by if the kitties start using it. In the meantime, they love their sisal one.

Although my cats really liked these posts (I bought several), I was less than thrilled with their durability: the sea grass began unwinding from the cardboard cylinders just a few months after purchase, making them fit only for the dumpster!

This is great! My cat went right to it, and she loves it! Keeps her from scratching the furniture, too.
