STAGG VEGETARIAN GARDEN 4-Bean Chili, Shelf Stable, 15 oz Steel Can

Stagg sent me the chili sent me this free sample through the BzzAgent sampling programHeated it up, topped with vegan cheese and served with home made bread-hubby approved. I like the amount of protein and fiber in each serving. A bit too much sodium but otherwise, pretty good choice when nothing but chili will do.

I love chili but don't always have the time (or energy) to make a batch so I was excited but skeptical when I received a can of Stagg 4 bean chili to sample for review purposes. Opinions are 100% my own. I'll be the first to admit my surprise at how much I enjoyed this chili. I'm a bit of a tough customer when it comes to canned goods but this chili stood up to the challenge. I did add some shredded cheese and sour cream to the chili because that's how I normally would eat chili. The chili is mild with a nice overall taste. I was impressed with how firm the beans were-a big issue I find with canned soups and chilis is mushy beans. The beans in this chili were nice and firm but not hard, they were easy to chew and really put this chili over the top for me. I'm also trying to add more plant based food to my diet so this is a product I can feel good about eating. I would definitely recommend to other chili loving friends and family.

I was given this Stagg Chili to try from the company. I was very impressed by the taste and quality of the Stagg Chili Vegetable Garden 4-bean chili. Compared to my home cooked 3-bean Chili with no meat, I'd say it was just as excellent as mine, except for the sodium content was a bit high for me. I tried the Vegetarian Chili on top of a salad, it was fantastic. Now this would be great for taking on a camping trip because it would be an easy fix. Very impressed that I wasn't adding any gluten to my diet. I was completely satisfied with the taste, quality and texture of the Chili. Overall, I would recommend this Vegetarian Garden 4-bean Chili to my friends and family.

The flavor is good. Although the protein amount is only 8g, for the vegetarian people it works fantastic. Lots of vegetables (peppers, onions) and a decent amount of beans. The consistency is very thick, you will be satisfied with a portion. Not very hot, I think that was the best part, just enough heat. The sodium amount is 99mg per serving which is considered low per The American Heart Association. Overall the product is a good one for a day when you want food that fills you up without cooking.
