Storage Chest in Mission Oak Finish

This is a really nice, solid piece of furniture for a great price. I was looking for something like this to fashion into something to hide my cat's litter box in but I didn't want to spend a lot of $ (I did cut a hole in one of the side panels) Wal Mart's site to store free shipping makes this a bargain. The instructions were very clear and it was very easy to put together.

The online product description stated this chest was "oak" in color, but it is more of a deep red "cherry". I chose this particular chest because the cabinets in my kitchen are oak, and since that's where I wanted to place this chest, I wanted a color that would kind of match. This is so NOT oak, nowhere close to it. However, if woodtone is not an issue for you, this is a fairly decent buy. The size is somewhat smaller than I expected, but it is a very solid piece, considering the price.

This company could use a lesson from Sauder in how to write assembly instructions that everyone can understand. However, once put together, I liked the way the chest looks and it holds plenty of toys. Have your wood glue handy, the glue that came with the assembly kit was dried out.

Bought this for my den to help contain the toy clutter in my apartment. It looks nice and fairly closely matches the bookshelves from Cost Plus I bought several years ago. It went together pretty easily while I watched a movie with my daughter and seems reasonably sturdy for something made out of veneered fiberboard. We will see how it holds up over time. For what I spent it is very nice and will do what I expected of it.

I am very glad that I found this storage bench. It is just what I needed to store extra blankets and linens. The instructions were a little hard to understand at first, but after I got started, I had no problems putting it together. For the price, this is a great buy!
