It is not sharp enough to cut tree branches, unless the branches are low and need a lot of pressure pushing down to cut them.

Love this saw! If you have a lot of cutting to do I recommend keeping a small bottle of bar and chain oil handy and keep a check on it because the saw is self lubricating and it uses a good bit. You don't want it to run out of oil. Consider the oil for the saw to be what blood is to us human beings, its crucial for maintaining the life of your saw. The extension pole extends quite far. Personally I can't cut too much or too long with it extended all the way out before it becomes too top heavy for me and my arms start hurting me. I have arthritis and radial tunnel syndrome so it's a bit more difficult for me than most people. I have cut some surprisingly large tree limbs and several small trees. Another tip for anyone considering buying one is before plugging it in an extension cord tying the saw cord and the extension cord in a bow type so that when you walk around the saw wont keep unplugging. I absolutely love this saw and I didn't pay an arm and a leg for it.

The little saw that can, cuts very good waited for awhile to test out. This does a great job cut bushes trees extension is handy but can be heavy on vertical cuts helps from side the just lay on limb and let it eat. Larger limbs make under cuts and even side if cutting large limbs or a tree will do any job put to task just keep blade oil in tank and sharpen blade, also check for blade tension. Very happy with purchase like I said if you want something lighter up top get sun joe saw that doesnt detatch drive motor on bottom. I love this for my fire pit near my house can drag limbs over and saw right there.

This lil guy works better than the video . I wish id of bought this much sooner ... only dosnside is now i need to get your woodchipper for all these cut branches ..

I was in need of an easy to use chain saw but I also needed a pole saw. The Sun Joe 2-in-1 Electric Pole + Chain Saw (10 inch) fit the need. Easy to convert from pole to chain saw with the "slip" type connections to make the change. The 8 AMP Motor has plenty of power for the 10 inch saw to cut both "green" and "seasoned" wood. The saw does get a little heavy with pole extended to it's fullest length,(I'm 86 yrs old) but is not unmanageable. So far after 3 days of using the saw I'm plenty happy with my purchase !
