VIZIO VTAB1008 Tablet, 8" XGA, 1 GHz, 512 MB RAM, 4 GB Storage, Android

I purchased a Filemate Identity Tab and could not get it to create a google account. After 5 hours or trying I returned it. After spending more endless hours researching tablets I decided on the Vizio tablet. When I got it home I had it out of the box, connected to WiFi network, set up google account (finally one that worked!) and connected to google market to download apps in less than five minutes. Five minutes later I set up the remote control app. I didn't look at model numbers on tv or cable box, the Vizo tablet will search for them for you, and had it working on both in less than two minutes. All controls that I had on my regular remote were right there on the screen. I loaded a movie onto SD card, and it played flawlessly. The picture and sound are great, and so much better that my little 3 inch mp3 player. This little tablet does everything that it says it will. Full andriod market, plays flash content, just connect to PC and drag and drop files, no Itunes required. The browser works great, it had real GPS that works without teathering to a phone, and even has your home buttons rotate when you rotate screen. The home screen doesn't look like any other android, but if that really bothers you (I have gotten used to it) you can download a launcher app to make it look like a standard android home screen. So you get all this, and under $200, you can't beat this deal. If your in the market for an easy to use tablet with lots of bells and whistles, and don't want to spend a fortune on the fruit company's tablets then this is the one for you.

Honestly this tablet for the price is unbeatable. It has everything you need from a camera to the android market. Although you can not text you can download free text apps from the market and act like a phone but BIGGER!!! Your not going to find a better price for this tablet anywhere. I would highly recommend this to not only my friends but to everyone. Hope this was helpful.

We wanted something not as big as an i-Pad...but bigger than the new Kindle Fire or Nook (for her to read her ebooks)....plus we wanted the full Android set up and marketplace....so from those aspects the Vizio fit the bill. Diving deeper I saw the ability to add 32 GB, GPS, and the remote control options programmed all our NON Vizio products (TV, Tuner, BluRay, Cable box) all withing 3 minutes. The system is flawless, super fast and they also provide FREE ooVoo for those that want live VIDEO chat with incorporating the slick camera embedded in the Tablet. Also unique to any tablet on the market is the three speaker set up so no matter HOW you orient the tablet, you have full stereo sound...as well as a HDMI connectivity....this unit simply does more than I possibly imagined, and does so flawlessly. At $198 ea. You'd be CRAZY not to get one of these!

I've not wanted to make a hefty investment in a tablet this year as I question how much genuine functionality I can have with it. I bought the Vizio with low expectations and was pleasantly surprised with its capabilities. I am running the latest release of the of the software distribution on this tablet as of 11/2011 (2.3.2 GRH78C#. So far I have not run into any applications from the Android Market that I could not install and run. (Skype, Kindle, Angry Birds, Mixology, Astro File Manager, Brain Age, Faceboook, Draw & Share, Netflix, Fandango, Youtube etc.#. The list goes on. One of the most useful applications I've found thus far is the Vizio remote control application. There hasn't been a device which I couldn't control with this software. While it won't replace my remote controls given the bulkiness of this device it's nice to know I have this as an option when on hand. If I'm to be crtical of the device, it can be a bit slow at times however killing some of the pesky resident apps that stay in the background #Skype/Facebook) helps improve performance. For the price you will be tempted to consider the Kindle Fire, while comparable and most likely a better CPU the functionality on this device makes it a key differentiator in particularly the Micro SD card slot. This capability by itself gives you much more capability and options than the Fire. No qualms against the Fire mind you, I considered the product before purchasing this device and I am very pleased with my decision to go with a lesser known product. If you're looking for a low cost capable tablet consider this device. If your heart is set on getting an iPad than get an iPad. Other notable mentions: Voice recognition, Bluetooth capabilities are very good! Not so notable mentions: Battery Life, Camera & Video capture capabilities are mediocre

After buying a IPAD 2 (then returning it, to much money), then buy a tablet that was $100.00 (then returning it cause it was aweful), this Vizio tablet is awesome! I think it is just as good as the IPAD. I can download apps a the market no problem. Get on Facebook, no problem, Watch videos, no problem. Haven't played with the camera yet, just bought this last night. But I think it is a awesome deal for the money!!!!
