This boot has lasted an average of two years. They are very comfortable and the durashock make it my favorite pair to wear. I average 45-50 hours a week. Work both in a warehouse and and ltl delivery driver. My last pair lasted the longest 3 years. And they had them in black. I’ve tried other boots and keep coming back to this one.
I feel like this boot runs bigger than advertised. I’ve always been an 11.5 boot size, ordered these as such and feel like I should’ve ordered a 1/2 to full size smaller. They aren’t the most comfortable boot I’ve ever worn, but they are definitely better built. I’d buy these again in a smaller size and probably replace the insole with some customer orthotics.
For 20 years I used to where nothing but Redwings on commercial construction sites. I needed an extra pair on rushed interstate job and had to get it that day, so I had to settle for what I thought was a cheaper made work boot. I have not bought another pair of redwing boots, or any other work boot since. About 5 years in tropical, always-damp Hawaii, 10 years in frozen Northern Indiana, now 5 years so far in concrete California. The cheap material that covers the top of the foam padding wore away sometime, I don't remember how long ago because it was never an issue. I do not polish them (leather care and waterproofing) as much as I should especially because after getting home from the job sites, I usually wore them out in the evening because they were so comfortable. The leather, stitching, and soles are still going strong. I was thinking of buying a new pair, bur after writing this review, I realize they have another 20 years on them at the least. Sorry guys! Hard to believe others may not be as thrilled as I am, but I trust these boots with my life, day in, and day out.
I got these boots for my boyfriend who’s a carpenter. He absolutely loves them but they’re just not as comfortable on his feet. He works long days in boots and these boots squeeze his pinky toes in. He’s tried putting different kinds and sizes of insoles in them and one on just the left ball of his foot helps and doesn’t squish his toes as much but they still hurt more than they should. Hopefully he finds something that works.
I've owned several pair of these 6" work boots. Not only are they tough, they are good looking and comfortable. The duraschock system actually relieves back tension from happening on those long days. They are great on a ladder and have a non slip sole which is perfect for working on tile floors. In addition to being an all around great work boot these soles don't have deep tread so it's easy to keep them clean and I don't drag debris around when coming and going. They last about a year of hard labor. Worth it!
