I bought this for my child for a starter piano to see if she liked it. She's already taking guitar. She picked it out for the many voices. I took a couple of years training myself and am no expert. I do like the sound, the many voices and the general feel and ease of use. Is it a Yamaha Grand? No. We are very pleased with it for the purpose and value and she's thrilled to death with it. No surprises so far. It does everything that you see in the demo videos very nicely.
I bought this keyboard about a month ago. I re-homed my piano a few years ago because the arthritis in my hands kept me from being able to play, and space had become a problem. The trouble was that I missed being able to play. I required a longer keyboard that the smaller, cheaper ones, and I also wanted touch sensitive keys to control volume in piano mode. I got both plus so much more. I love the ability to learn one hand at a time while the piano plays the other hand. It waits for me to struggle through the harder passages and grades me (quite gently, I might add) when I finish a song. You have to print out the music from the CD that is provided -- they don't give you a book. There are 20 real songs or so on the keyboard and another 100 or so on the CD that can be transferred to the keyboard's memory from a computer (but I haven't done that yet. The voices (besides the grand piano) are lots of fun, especially with Christmas songs. I am enjoying being able to sit down and play again. For me this was a terrific buy. I had already done my homework, and I was delighted to find it (packaged with a power supply and stand) at Sams that Saturday. I purchased a bench and pedal separately later from another source, but neither would have been necessary. It is a fabulous price for a quality keyboard. I would buy it again in a heartbeat.
We like to go with a group to bring sunshine into homes of elderly people by singing for them. This piano has awesome sound for a small living room and doesn't require that I find a power outlet. One person can carry the piano and another the accessories. You can play it sitting down or standing. Although the keys are not weighted, they have a mechanism that gives you some tactile response. You won't find anything better under $400.
