My horse is really rough on fly masks. I bought this one because it has two layers of velcro, it was no surprise when she ripped off the second piece of velcro after wearing it a few times. The velcro is also a bit too long, it ends up being a 'tail' that can easily be ripped off, I've had a few of these in the past and the same thing happened.
Seems to last, my horse hasn't killed it yet so that's a good sign! They do run a little big but the Arab size fit my cob headed quarter horse.
I bought this for my new horse. It's the only mask that lasts with my guys. My pony used to go through several a season. We are on year two with this!
I love the Cashel fly masks because they are fairly durable and fit well. I have four horses, all with varying head shapes and sizes. The cob size fits my saddlebred, appendix QH, and German riding pony which is impressive, as they all have very different head shapes. I also have a POA that wears the yearling size, it's perfect for him. I have used Cashel fly masks for several years. I do have to replace them about every 1.5-2yrs but my horses tend to be hard on things.
Very naughty clothes destroying horse wore from April until end of August and then he destroyed it. It patched easily and held on until Sept. Made of a soft material with no rubs anywhere. Ears fit well and weren't too big. I bought another for next year.
