These were great for my allergies. I use them every day or whenever I'm having an allergy attack. They allow me to enjoy my day better without sneezing through it all.

This is a great allergy medication to be taken at night or even during the day.. Great if you have the sniffles from allergies to pollen or dust, etc.

Sure, Zyrtec works great to stop allergies. But after long-term use, getting off of it is a nightmare. I've experienced days and days of intense itching, despite weaning off from Zyrtec slowly. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this med. I wouldn't wish this painful discomfort and itching on my worst enemy.

I've taken Zyrtec as needed for several years and it has always seemed effective. This pst summer when my seasonal allergies were extremely exacerbated by pregnancy I started taking it daily. Once the winter hit and I was close to delivery I decided to stop taking it. After about 48 hours I started getting unbearable itching all over my body that felt as though it was coming from within. I spoke with my OB and primary care physician who both said to “just keep taking it” but I've never experienced itching like this due to allergies. I've also been allergy tested and all my allergies are outdoor/seasonal stuff. After some research I learned about Zyrtec withdrawal and my symptoms are exactly the same as thousands of others! I will definitely never take this medication long term again and am just praying I can get through this period of intense withdrawal itching!

Don't get me wrong. Zyrtec works for me. It gets rid of my allergies very effectively. The problem is that stopping is impossible due to the extreme withdrawal itching that occurs. If I go more than ~48 hours without taking a tablet, I get really bad itches all over my arms, legs, scalp, and torso. They make it hard to stay focused and concentrate, and I end up craving the zyrtec tablet so badly that I inevitably fail to stop taking it. DON'T START TAKING ZYRTEC! It's highly addictive.
