Cut only the length of the stem needed for the vase, leaving the rest to die off naturally and provide the nutrients the bulb requires to produce the following year's blooms. Carefully remove anthers before placing the flowers in vases to prevent pollen from dropping onto fabrics. Before placing in vases, remove leaves below the water line.
