The Suburban 161230 RV Water Heater Temperature and Pressure Relief Valve - SW & V Models is a replacement part for all V and SW Suburban water heater models. Lead Free. Replaces OEM 161157 pressure relief valve. Temperature steam rating: 105,000 BTU per hr., set at 150 psi and 210 degrees F. 3/4" Female Outlet. 3/4" Male Inlet . Made of brass. The temperature and pressure relief valve is design to prevent explosion, when the pressure gets too high in your RV water heater. It is recommended to test the valve every 6 months, a build up of salt, rust or corrosion can cause the valve to freeze up, making you have to replace it. To test, simply raise and lower the test lever several times, hot water should flow out drainpipe, if not then you will have to replace the valve.
