Cooking performance and flexibility of cooking space is excellent. Recessed shiny stainless steel area around burners must be treated with stainless wipes to overcome streaky appearance after daily cleaning. Brushed, non shiny stainless (like my previous cooktop) is much easier to maintain. Heavy cast iron cooking grates can easily scratch decorative trim when removing for daily cleaning of burner area. Soft rubber bumpers should be on corners of grates (not on the cooktop) to avoid scratches when moving
I really love this cooktop. The timer is awesome! The brass caps don't look good anymore but when I purchased it I was told to use the black caps instead and save the brass ones for when I am not cooking. Where can I find the replacment brass caps? I would like to buy another set.
Beautiful looking cooktop, but the igniters tend to activate when I turn to simmer mood, and there's a major discoloration on the burner tops after a week of use, also the rubber mounts under the grates seem to pop out every time I clean the stainless top, it's not wearing very well but other than those issues I can still perform my cooking duties....
Looked beautiful when first installed, but quickly looks old, stained and beat up. The brass gets dull when used and cleaned, and stains cannot be removed. So if you plan to actually cook, then I would not recommend this cooktop.
This is a nice update to our old GE cooktop. We like it with one exception; it takes longer to heat food because the grates sit higher above the burners. As the burners are used, the gold inner finish gets darker.
