Detailed product description

Peace Of Mind In Two Minutes! Who says you have to say "see ya later" to the occasional cocktail (or glass of wine) just because you're breastfeeding? Not us! Upspring Milkscreen is an easy, non-invasive, 2-minute test to detect alcohol in breast milk. Simply saturate the test pad with a few drops of breast milk, then check for any color change 2 minutes later! About Upspring We exist to build the next generation of mighty moms. Why? Because moms hold the future in their hands (literally). Here’s the thing though: We already know you’re mighty. You don’t need us for that. We’re simply here to help unlock that marvelous mightiness, however that looks for you! How? Through zero-compromise innovation that unlocks your inner mighty. Your journey, your way. For us, that means creating mom-centric innovations that meet real-life needs, without unnecessary settling or sacrificing. In other words, we don’t believe in only sort-of-solutions. We were built by (and are still run by) moms, so we know how wonderful and challenging and beautiful and scary momhood can be (sometimes all within the same half-hour). In the sisterhood of motherhood, we're all in this together. Milkscreen is a consumer product and is not intended to be used in the prevention, diagnosis, or treatment of alcohol intoxication, or poisoning or other health-related conditions in women or nursing babies.

Upspring Milkscreen Test Strips for Alcohol in Breast Milk, 5 Count Non-invasive test strip for alcohol in breast milk Easy-to-read results in just two minutes Made for nursing moms Also available in an 8-pack, 20-pack, and 30-pack Why is Testing for Alcohol in Breast Milk Important? When you drink, the alcohol stays in both your bloodstream and breast milk until it is completely metabolized and out of your system entirely. The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) states that nursing mothers can have an occasional alcoholic drink—the equivalent of a 12-ounce beer, 4-ounce glass of wine, or ounce of hard liquor—but that mom should wait at least two hours per drink before breastfeeding. That’s because an alcoholic beverage in a standard portion typically takes two to three hours to clear from your bloodstream and breast milk. That’s an average. But here’s the thing. Are you “average”? Heck, no! “Average” is meaningless when it comes to someone as special as you! No two women metabolize alcohol at the same rate. There are many factors that affect the metabolism of alcohol, such as body weight, the type and amount of alcohol you drink, and how much and when you’ve last eaten. How Does It Work? Saturate the Milkscreen test pad with a few drops of breast milk. Read the test results at 2 minutes. Any color change on the test pad 2 minutes after saturation indicates that alcohol is detected.* Reading the test pad before or after the two-minute mark may cause an inaccurate reading, so don’t forget to set your timer! *The presence of alcohol is detected by Milkscreen at or above 13.1 mg/dL
