Expert Gardener Dianthus 1.5 Gallon Live Plant

The colorful and abundant Expert Gardener Dianthus flower will bring cheer to any garden or container. They have pretty, frilly blooms and grass-like foliage. There are now about 300 different species, but the genus originally comes from Europe and Asia. Depending on the variety, Dianthus can be either annuals, perennials, or biennials. They are a classic flower for a cottage-style garden- plant them to attract butterflies! Dianthus love 4-6 hours of daily sun in the southern parts of the US. They also appreciate well drained soil, as they are susceptible to stem rot if their environment is too continuously moist. Cut off dead blooms to encourage new flower growth. PLANTING & CARE INSTRUCTIONS: Looks great planted along walkways, in decorative containers, or at garden's edge. If replanting into a larger pot, use quality soil. When planting in the garden, dig a hole, set the plant and fill hole with soil. Keep well-watered until the plant is established. Water well when dry, and check often during hot, dry weather. Fertilize regularly.
