Three Kaiju legends come together in a final battle in GODZILLA: TOKYO S.O.S. Godzilla rages against Tokyo while Kiryu (aka Mechagodzilla) is on standby as politicians decide whether or not to relaunch. Meanwhile, Mothra and the Shobijin show up at the home of Chujo, an ex-soldier who met Mothra in the 1960s. The Shobijin ask for the Prime Minister to take Kiryu to the sea, so the bones of the original Godzilla it's built on can be laid to rest, but Japan doesn't believe Mothra will fight in Kiryu's place. All of this sets the stage for a titanic battle between Godzilla, Mothra, and Kiryu that will decide the future safety of Japan.
