3M 08500, All-Around Autobody Sealant The 3M 8500, All-Around Autobody Sealant is a medium-bodies, water-based, white sealant that is used for sealing interior and exterior autobody joints and seams. It is easily applied and can be smoothed to a featheredge with a wet finger and sets to a firm, tough, rubber-like water resistant bead. It adheres well to primed metal and painted surfaces. When dry, it resists water, vibration, heat, and cold. Apply the sealant where it is desirable to eliminate solvents (other than water.) It can be painted in 30 minutes, has easy water cleanup, and will not harm paint. The All-Around Autobody Sealant is especially good for customers in hot, dry environments because it will not dry as quickly as a solvent based seam sealer.
