Temporarily relieves these local symptoms associated with hemorrhoids and other anorectal disorders: itching; burning; discomfort. Temporarily forms a protective coating over inflamed tissues to help prevent drying of tissues. Temporarily protects the inflamed, irritated anorectal surface to help make bowel movement less painful. If suppository seems soft, hold in plastic wrapper under cold water for 2 to 3 minutes. Opening Suppository Wrapper: 1. Detach one suppository from the strip of suppositories and remove wrapper as follow before inserting into the rectum. 2. Hold suppository so that arrow on wrapper points up. 3 Carefully separate the plastic wrapped tabs with your fingers. 4. Peel plastic slowly and evenly down both sides, exposing suppository. 5. Avoid excessive handling of suppository, since it is designed to melt at body temperature. See bottom for opening suppository wrapper. Adults: Insert one (1) suppository rectally up to 6 times daily or after each bowel movement by following these steps: when practical, clean the affected area with mild soap and warm water and rinse thoroughly; gently dry by patting or blotting with toilet tissue or a soft cloth before applying; detach one (1) suppository from the strip of suppositories; remove wrapper before inserting into the rectum.
