Introduced in Victorian times from Japan under the variety name 'Daylight', as a floral companion to 'Darkness', the violet variety. Snow white trusses of flowers bloom on a twining vine with fresh green leaves. It twines easily on strings or trellis-work. Luminescent at dusk, it is a nice addition to the white garden. Uncooked beans and flowers are poisonous.
