Originally brought to the upper Mississippi Valley by Swedish immigrants. Still a favorite in sections of Northern Michigan, Wisconsin and Minnesota. First offered by the Northrup King Company in 1890, but was known in the produce trade for many years before. Small golden-brown bean that is excellent for soups and stews. Semi-vining bush plants, 80-85 days. Photo courtesy of Seed Savers Exchange, Kent Whealy.
