The antique pot marigold, as Calendula once was known, opens and closes with the day. Double forms were known as early as the late 1500s. This relatively modern variety has doubled blooms of a lovely soft yellow hue that harmonize well with blue flowers. Try combining with Chinese-forget-me-nots for a lovely border. Blooms spring to fall, suspending bloom in hot weather. Cold tolerant, it can be sown in fall in mild winter areas. Well-drained, fertile soil. Number of weeks from sowing to bloom: 12-14 .
