Produced in both cargo and passenger variants, the DC-6 was well received by the civilian market, and the U.S. Military ordered the aircraft for transport duties after the outbreak of the Korean War. Thanks to its efficient and simple engines, the DC-6 has remained operational for more than 60 years.
