DIY Slime Recipe with Glue and Liquid Laundry Detergent 1/4 cup glue 1 tablespoon liquid laundry detergent Put glue and detergent in a bowl and stir well. You may need to add more liquid laundry detergent if it seems too sticky and isn't slimy enough. After a few minutes, it will take on the gooey texture of slime! The longer you stir it, the smoother and gooier it will get. Store it in a zip lock baggie to use later. Caution: Do NOT get this substance on carpet or clothing! It is difficult to remove, especially if it dries. If it is still moist, it can be removed with water and gentle rubbing with a wet wash cloth.
