Empacadora is a 100% Mexican company, founded in 1949 for the manufacturing of cans for local industries. They later gradually embarked on the manufacturing of canned goods, such as plums, pears and peaches in syrup, fabada (bean stew with sausage) and meat. In the 1950s, they began canning chili peppers, with serrano chilies being the best sellers in those days. Over time, they began incorporating the distinct varieties of chili peppers, establishing in 1957, the beginnings of a future of quality in canned goods, represented by the world-renowned San Marcos brand.
