Perfect for home or garden, each Four Heads is approximately 5" x 28" x 0.5" and hand-chiseled out of recycled steel oil drums by Haitian artisans using techniques first developed by Georges Liautaud in the late 1950s when he chalked out his first design on a flattened steel oil drum and then cut it out by hand with a mallet and chisel. As each piece is handmade, their final dimensions and finish may vary slightly.

Ergo Chef's 8-inch chrome steel honing rod or sharpening steel as it is also known, is designed to hone and sharpen blade edges. This honing rod straightens the burrs that appear on a knife's edge from regular and daily use. Honing a knife helps keep the knife performing well in between sharpening. Honing steels are used by placing the near edge of the blade against the base of the steel, then sliding the blade away from yourself along the steel while moving it down. The blade moves diagonally, while the steel remains stationary. This should be done with the blade held at an angle to the steel, usually around 18- 20-degrees and repeating on the opposite side at the same angle. Repeat five to ten times.
