Dan Scott (John Hopkins). In the next episode, "The House in the Woods", Scott's replacement, Detective Constable Ben Jones (Jason Hughes), helps Barnaby investigate a pair of grisly murders linked to a much-coveted "haunted" house. This is followed by "Dead Letters", wherein Barnaby is startled to meet several villages who all resemble past murder victims; can this have anything to do with the demise of a beauty contest winner? In "Vixen's Run", sibling rivalry dating back half a century leads to murder--and the frenzied search for some missing emeralds.
