Detailed product description

COREOPSIS: Superb in the border – reliable, long blooming flowers are produced from early summer into the fall. Just give them some sun and enjoy the show. Coreopsis naturalize with ease and will attract lots of butterflies and birds to your garden. Cold hardy, floriferous and easy to grow. This floriferous new Coreopsis forms a full, sturdy, upright clump of dark green, threadleaf foliage topped with white flowers with a vibrant raspberry red eye. They first appear in midsummer and continue through early fall without deadheading, with the raspberry color expanding to cover most of the flower’s petal surface in cooler temperatures.A flurry of sterile, yellow blossoms with a vibrant red eye appear first in midsummer, intensifying and expanding over most of the flower’s surface in cooler temperatures. They bloom for months, typically through early fall in the Midwest, so there are plenty to pick for fresh bouquets. Its lustrous, dark green, threadleaf foliage is highly mildew resistant, forming a sturdy, upright clump. Compared to ‘Route 66’, this selection is much more disease resistant, cold tolerant, and stays compact without the need for pinching during production.Gardeners have loved threadleaf Coreopsis verticillata since the invention of ‘Moonbeam’ many moons ago. But those who garden in cooler climates have struggled to keep them from going dormant early in the season because that species is heat loving and not particularly cold tolerant. Master hybridizer Darrell Probst has found a way to give us Coreopsis with threadleaf foliage on more cold tolerant plants that look great and bloom for months without going dormant too early in the SATIN & LACE™ series. Even better, they are highly resistant to powdery mildew and have sterile flowers so they won’t seed all over the garden.
